Ginger is a sailor’s secret: an ancient and well-known treatment for upset stomach. It has been used for thousands of years in China to treat nausea, arthritis, and heart disease. While some people eat ginger or drink a commercial can of ginger ale, the best method is to make this soothing ginger elixir.
1 cup peeled, finely chopped organic ginger
2 cups mineral water
1 cup raw organic honey
Sparkling water (as desired)
Juice of 1 organic lime
1. Boil the mineral water and add in ginger.
2. Reduce heat to a medium-low setting and let simmer for five minutes
3. Take the ginger water off the heat and strain
4. Combine ginger syrup with other ingredients and serve cold!
