Albert Einstein is well-known as one of the greatest scientific minds of all time. He was a Nobel Prize-winning theoretical physicist who created the theory of general relativity and special relativity, as well as a pillar of modern culture. A prominent Jewish figure and pacifist, he was much persecuted by the Nazi party. He fled Germany during the 1930’s and settled in the US where he continued his work, supported the civil rights movement, and became an influential Zionist leader and activist (in fact, he had even helped establish the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1925, and was offered the position of President of Israel in 1952).
